Privacy Policy

Leasebud ("we," "us") provides an AI-powered tool that helps renters understand residential lease agreements. Our website is https://leasebud.app. You can reach us at hello@leasebud.app.

• Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address, username, and password (stored securely by our authentication provider, Clerk). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google.
• Lease content. When you paste a lease or upload a PDF, we process the text of that document to generate your report. We do not store the raw lease text after your report is delivered.
• Usage data. Basic analytics such as pages visited, referrer, and approximate location (from your IP). We do not use invasive cross-site tracking.
• Payment information. If you subscribe, our payment provider (Lemon Squeezy) processes your card details. We never see or store your full card number.

• To generate your lease report and let you download it.
• To manage your account, subscriptions, and billing.
• To improve the product (e.g., fixing bugs, improving analysis quality).
• To send occasional service emails (login codes, receipts, product updates).
• To comply with legal obligations and prevent abuse.

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with your landlord or any third party for marketing.

• Clerk — user authentication and account management.
• Anthropic (Claude)— the AI model that analyzes your lease. Your lease text is sent to Anthropic's API for processing. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to that processing. Per Anthropic's API policy, your inputs are not used to train their models.
• Lemon Squeezy — merchant of record for payments and taxes.
• Netlify — website hosting and infrastructure.

• Lease text: processed in memory, not stored after the report is generated.
• Reports: stored briefly in your browser session so you can view the report page. They are cleared when your session ends.
• Account data: kept as long as your account is active.
• Billing records: kept as long as required by applicable tax law.

You can, at any time:

• Access, correct, or delete your account information.
• Export your data (contact us).
• Cancel a subscription.
• Object to certain processing where the law provides that right (e.g., GDPR).

We use HTTPS everywhere, hashed passwords via Clerk, and standard security practices with our third-party processors. No online service is 100% secure — please use a strong password and enable two-factor authentication.

Leasebud is not directed at children under 16. Do not use the service if you are under that age.

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll change the "Last updated" date at the top and, for material changes, we'll notify signed-in users by email.
